Operating Essentials of Lawn Mowers
1. Clearing the Area
（1） Clear the area of stones, branches, and various debris. Mark sprinklers and obstacles.
（2） Attire Requirements: Wear thick-soled shoes and long pants to prevent injuries from flying objects kicked up by the blades.
2. Site Requirements
（1） Slope Requirements: Do not mow on slopes exceeding 15° to prevent injuries and equipment damage. Avoid mowing immediately after rain or irrigation to prevent slipping and equipment malfunction.
（2）Special Requirements: It is particularly emphasized that no one should be within a 10-meter radius during mowing, especially when side-discharging—ensure the discharge chute is not directed toward people. Never adjust the machine or remove grass while the engine is running.
（3）Height Adjustment: Determine the cutting height based on lawn requirements. Only one-third of the grass height should be cut per mowing session. Mow horizontally across slopes, not up and down. Exercise extreme caution when turning on slopes, and watch for holes, ditches, mounds, and other obstacles in the grass.
3. Function and Use of the Safety Handle
The safety control handle of the lawn mower controls the flywheel brake device and the ignition coil shut-off switch. Pressing the safety control handle releases the flywheel brake and disengages the shut-off switch, allowing the engine to start and run. Conversely, releasing the safety control handle engages the flywheel brake and activates the ignition coil shut-off switch, stopping the engine and halting the mower. Thus, the lawn mower can only operate normally when the safety control handle is pressed. In case of an emergency during operation, releasing the safety control handle will stop the mower. Therefore, never tie down the safety control handle during operation.
Maintenance Methods for Lawn Mowers
1. After each use, disconnect the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting while cleaning the blade disc or rotating the blade.
2. Check the Blades: Regularly sharpen the lawn mower blades to maintain sharpness. Sharp blades ensure a neat and tidy lawn appearance, minimize grass damage, and reduce the risk of lawn diseases. Dull blades not only harm the lawn but also increase resistance on the transmission shaft, raising the mower’s workload, reducing efficiency, increasing operating temperature, and accelerating machine wear. Therefore, keep the blades sharp to improve efficiency and ensure normal operation.
3. Additionally, regularly check the balance of the lawn mower blades. Imbalanced blades can cause machine vibration, which may easily damage mower components.
